Andrea Annunziata

Andrea Annunziata I was born in Washington, DC and placed my faith in Christ when I was in the 9th grade. After graduating from college I was given the chance to go on a short term missions trip to Papua New Guinea (PNG). While there God opened my  eyes to “the fields white unto  harvest.”

The Lord led me to New Tribes Mission (NTM). NTM works with tribal groups in isolated locations around the world. They target groups that have no exposure to the Gospel. (Did you know that around 1/3 of the world’s population…that’s 2 billion have no exposure to the Gospel).

After 4 ½ years of linguist and cultural training, I am currently living in Madang Town, the capital of the Madang region of Papua New Guinea. After living here for 6-9 months I will move interior with my tribal church planting team. (My tribal church planting team consists of one married couple -- Joseph and Karen Moonsammy -- and another single girl -- Edna Otzoy. We are currently praying for an additional couple to join our team.)

We will be learning a particular tribe's language and culture. We will then translate the Bible and teach the people chronologically (key Old Testament stories leading up to a Gospel presentation.) Our goal is to plant a tribal church that will grow and mature to the glory of God.

Andrea's Newsletter

For those who are interested, there are many ways you can be a co-laborer with me:

  • By Praying— Without regular prayer support from people like you, my work would be in vain. (Please send me an e-mail or drop me a letter if you would like to receive my updates).
  • By Encouraging — Many of you have stayed in touch through e-mails and letters. What a joy!
  • By Giving — My financial support comes from churches, family, and friends. (If you are interested in contributing to my ministry, send a check to New Tribes Mission & mail it to their business address.  Checks should be made out to New Tribes Mission and have a note saying "For the ministry of Andrea Annunziata."  All contributions are tax-deductible.)
How do ya like my hat?

Me and some new friends that have found me.

Trip to local market with my Language helper, Jenni.

Trip to Sobega, I am standing next to normal size bamboo plants.

I'm learning how to harvest the Sago tress, one of their staple foods, with Jenni.
